Summary

The third issue of “ART” is specially designed for the “Days of Komi Republic in Saint Petersburg” (this event takes place from the 3d till the 6th of September 2008). This issue is opened with the section entitled “Komi people in St. Petersburg”. It includes an article of A. Teryukov, native of Komi Republic and now working as a Research Associate in St. Petersburg Institute of Anthropology. This section also contains the passage from the book “Long Way” by Pitirim Sorokin, a well-known American sociologist of Komi origin. This passage describes the author’s life in St. Petersburg - the so-called Northern Capital of Russia.
The section “Prose. Poetry. Literary Critics” comprises works of authors both from St. Petersburg and Komi Republic: N. Konyaev, N. Miroshnichenko, E. Kozlova and others.
«ART» continues the publication of the novel “Island” about Komi people living in the Urals region written by F. Konev from Minsk.
This time a traditional section “Studii” introduces St. Petersburg authors only: the section includes works of I. Zemtsovsky and A. Nekrylova.
In the “ART-Fact” section a reader gets acquainted with “Victoria” club from Pavlovsk city. Among club members are mainly young artists and students from the Komi Republic.
Children’s book writer Elena Gabova shares her impressions from the trip to Norway with “ART” readers.
